2 months

It's hard to believe that 2 months has already gone by since my surgery. Time certainly flies when you are having fun. At this point I have lost 29.4 pounds since surgery...54.4 since my highest (I'll update my ticker on Monday because that is my normal weigh in day). I have lost a total of 18.25 inches. WOOHOO. I have no problems. I've only had one food get stuck and that was salmon and I really think it was from my eating it too fast. I can get all of my fluids with no trouble at all and I get at least 50 grams of protein a day. I keep waiting to miss my old food friends....but I really don't. The only thing I want from time to time is my sesame chicken and fried rice. My clothes are too big finally and I am struggling with finding new ones at prices I'm willing to pay. Thanks to Andrea for letting me rummage through her closet and to Melinda for the clothes she passed down. :) My biggest struggle is exercise. I hate it, so it's really hard to do. I make it to water aerobics about once a week and I do a lot of shopping. haha. I park far away and get lots of walking in that way. Today I raked the front yard and I'm sure I burned 5 days worth of calories. LOL. I'm sleeping better...Jed tells me I only snore a minimal amount now which is fantastic. While never diagnosed w/ sleep apnea I'm certain I had it. Being able to sleep better makes me feel much better overall. I'm still a little tired in the evenings, but I think that is still nomral at this point. So anyway. That's my update. I'm excited to say I LOVE MY RNY and I can't wait to see what else is to come. Thanks to everyone for their continued support. I'd be lost without you all! Becky

Woohoo Becky! It's all so wonderful. I'm telling ya join my gym. I'll drag ya every day with me. I love it! Just got home from doing an hour on the elipitical. Nothing feels better than knowing that I just burned over 900 cal.  Now get back to that school work. :-)

Becky,

Congratulations on all of the big and little wow's that have made up the last two months. There are so many more to come.

I really understand what you mean about not wanting to exercise. Some people just naturally like it, but people like me would rather not. The only thing that makes me do it, is that it allows me to do more of what I want and I honestly do feel better if/when I do. Try to find an activity you like that makes you move as opposed to exercise for exercise sake.

Keep up the good work and know that the best is yet to come.

Barb

Wow that was a fast 2 months wasn't it!  Congrats on your success so far.  You are doing great and will continue to do so.  I'm also struggling with exercise.  I need to work on that area now.   Keep up the great work!

Way to go Becky.  You are doing great!   Exercise is a bear.... especially now that it is getting warmer weather.  (well today it feels again like winter..but the 80s and exercise is tough!) Connie

Happy 2 Months, Becky!  You have come so far in just a few months!!! The weight will begin flying off and your struggle to find clothes will only get worse, but who wouldn't want that problem?!!!!!!  I tell you, Ross is my friend!!! I try not to buy any shirts/pants over $10.00. I've also found a couple things at the Goodwill here in town, but it'**** or miss... I hope some of the clothes I passed down worked-- I know some were probably too big, but hopefully you at least got a few things out of it! Alice was nice enough to share the wealth with me so I figured I could only do the same! So glad to hear your sleep apnea (or undiagnosed SA) is getting better. I need to ask James if he has noticed a change in my sleeping.  Regarding the exercise, I still need to get on that band wagon. I am walking some (although not as much as I need to).  I have contemplated joining the Aquatics center with you, but it's so hard to get off work and drive all the way over there... I also considered joining the rec center here, but then we'll be with all those tiny college girls... I don't know. I DO know I need to up the exericse though... Anyway, enough rambling. You are doing a great job girl and I'm so proud of you! Just keep thinking about how you will look next year at this time!!! Enjoy the ride!!! Love ya, Melinda
