Well I haven't received anything in the mail for over 2 weeks from my surgeon as to when my appts. that I would need done prior to surgery.  Well I got to impatient so I called their office today and they have not any mailed them yet!! UGH!!  Well my upper GI, lab work, ultrasound, and ansthesiast (sp) is on April 24th and then my nutritionist and psych eval. is on the 3rd of June.  That is so far away.  I really hope it goes by fast.  Then I will have to have a decision visit with Dr. Pender (don't know when though) and submit to insurance so I am probably looking around August sometime, if I am approved.  If anybody wants to share their stories as to long it took or how your tests went I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks Amanda

I know what you mean, the wait is something.  I had my gyn order all of my tests needed so it would cut back on time.  But time really goes by fast.  You'll have a date before you know it!

Amanda,   It will go faster then you think. I had my "class" Jan 3rd. I had my first 3 appts in Feb. And the other 2 in March. I go tomorrow for my decision appt. I thought that this would take forever, b/c when you want something this bad, it seems like forever. Hang in there it will fly by!!! You will have your date in no time!!  Danielle

Amanda, I think I am in your boat too.  I just had my "class" last week, and have gotten most everything scheduled for may, I have the psych in june and still need the endoscopy scheduled. I was hoping to have surgery in July, due to school schedules, but I am thinking that won't happen...I guess we will be waiting it out together! Fran

Fran, I think you still have a chance for a July surgery date... I had my "class" in July and had surgery on october 11.  SS works fast and before you know it you will be on that OR table! Stay on top of things, call the doctor's offices yourself to see if you can be worked in where there was a cancellation and your July date may come true! Good luck and join us for the support group meetings at SS on the first Wednesday of the month if you can!

I hope so....I saw my primary today, so she is in the loop.  MY husband works at the hospital here in Goldsboro, so he is helping me get some of it scheduled...the rest I will do in greenville...He spoke to someone at SS and they were just starting to schedule endosop. for June.   I have 5 kids...2 of which we brough home from Ethiopia 7/06, and I think a ran out of my ability to wait when we waited to go get them!  I guess once you make the decision to "jump" of the cliff, you just want it NOW! :)  I hope to make it to the next SS support grouip meeting. Fran yeah I had my class back in the beginning of February and now just doing my tests.  I was hoping to have July or August due to my school schedule as well those are the only 2 months I have off.  Well I hope it happens.  Thanks

You'll be on the loser's bench before you know it!!!  It will go quickly!  You won't realize how quick it goes until your surgery is over and you look back!  Anticipation makes everything move like a snail! Andrea
