Soy Chips

Sometimes when I have soup I REALLY want something crunchy to go with it.  Sometimes even when I'm NOT having soup, I want something crunchy.  I CAN eat crackers, potato chips, sun chips, tortilla chips, etc without a problem.  Except they are basically EMPTY calories.  LONG time ago when I did Nutri-system they had a soy chip that wasn't bad.  Wasn't GREAT, but not bad.  I would like to find some soy chips that would satisfy my crunch needs, but NOT be so bad for me.  I want them to taste good, but not too yummy or I'll want to eat an entire bag of them in a weak moment.  I am reluctant to just go buy bags of them if they are truely yucky. I don't personnally know anyone who eats soy chips.  Sooo.... If any of you have a recommendation I'd appreciate it.  Thanks!

I like the Glenny's apple cinamin soy crisps. Of course they wouldn't go good in soup, but they are yummy. They also have some other flavors. I can't remeber what I tried, but I liked all of them except the garlic. At one time they had them at The Fresh Market, but now I have to get them online. http://www.glennys.com/ The Gen-Soy aren't bad. You can find these at lowes food. At one time quaker hasd a soy crisp, but I can't find them any more. Belinda

I just ordered and tried Just the Cheese in white cheddar from Amazon.com.    They are crunchy little rounds and taste like cheese, which they are.   A pkg of 1/2 ounce is 75 calories, 5 g of protein and only 1 carb.   They don't have to be refridgerated so you can just pack in your pocketbook for a snack.    I noticed they also had pizza cheese and will probably try that next.  Figured they will make a good afternoon snack as normally i have 1 oz of cheese which is 90 cal and light wheat thins which add another 50 so this will be much less.    Take care!  Pam

The only thing with that product is a 1/2 oz packs 7.5g of fat - thats a decent amount of fat for a small amount of snack. If you end up eating the entire ounce you get 15g of fat. Serving Size 1 oz.n (about 15 chips)

A half ounce is about all i can eat and there are about 25 small chips which are about the size of a dime.   This is a good afternoon snack for me.    Has anyone tried Kay's Natural Protein pretzels? Thanks Pam

There are Kay's naturals that are protien chips, pretzels and they have some pretty good cereals also. Revial has some protien chips also that are really good. You can probably get them on-line but I get them from my doctors office.  Good luck finding something!!!!

I love Soy Chips... you can buy them at Wal Mart. I personally get them at Trader Joes - they are a weekly staple! They are very similar to rice cakes just made from soy :-)
