First Consult

I had my first consult yesterday with Dr. Bauman.  I have to say I LOVED HIM.  First of all we got there (to my surprise I am so glad I left early.  It took me 5 hours to drive to his office instead of the 3.5 I thought it was going to do.  Guess I didn't do my homework too good)  It was rather funny you have to pay 255.00 on the first visit and my debit card wouldn't work.  Thank God I had two different ones.  Then I got to watch his movie.  It was one hour.  It was very informative.  Then I got to meet the doctor.  He was great.  My DH even loved him.  (even though my husband was very confused after we left.  He thought he understood but we get half way home and my dh says to me, what made you decide on having the "band".  WHAT!!!  I am having the Fobi Pouch!!!  I wouldn't of been so shocked but we just spent 5 hours on the way there discussing the different types of WLS and what I liked about each and didn't like about each.  He had agreed with me about the Fobi pouch.  UGHHH.  Anyways. I love my husband!!   So. Back to Dr. Bauman.  His staff was great.  We went through all my pre-op stuff and I have everything done but the NUT.  I have an appointment with her on the 16th.  They told me I would probably be on the books by May 1st.  I am VERY excited.

Thanks for all the support.  I am very excited about this.  I'm ready.  I'm excited I finally found a doctor I like and know what procedure I want to have!!!

That is fantastic!  As far as husbands go they listen to us but tone us out at the same time at least half the time we speak to them.  Glad you have found a doc you feel comfortable with as that makes all the difference in the world! Take care and good luck through the process! Pam

Glad you like that wl group. I have Dr. B also and think he is a very talented surgen. Do exactly what he says....if he says loose weight you say how much and do it.  He will cancel surgery if you gain.  The staff is great and the Nut is too.  Dr. B will make sure you are a success.  It is good your DH is involved even if he doesn't pay attention. Sounds like you're well on your way. Gotta laugh at your DH. My DH comes with me to the doctor to pick up on things that I may have missed...and sometimes it's alot! LOL Best of luck to you on the rest of your journey. I'll be checking to see how it's going. xoxo Mare
