I was checkin out protein powder the other day and I noticed that soy protein has way less sugar and carbs and more protein. I was told by other people that one of the best powders to use is this whey protein powder. Does it matter? Whats the difference? Any suggestions? Thanks.                                                                                                 -Shelly-

Whey protein is more complete and a better choice, soy is a fine alternative if you have lactose issues, but whey is the way to go (woo I should be in marketing!). You can find a no/low sugar protein powder and very low carb as well - just need to keep looking.

I order protein bullets online which are whey protein.  They are 3 oz of liquid and kinda taste like liquid jello.   They are 42g of protein so i drink part mid-morning and the rest in the afternoon.  It is only 2g of carbs and 0g of sugar.    If you decide to go this route, you can just google protein bullets.    My doc let me start these as soon as i got home but i know others have been told to wait so that is a question you may want to ask him for your Nut. Take care, Pam

The protein bullets have saved my life! I can't possibly choke down all the protein required by traditional methods. (Chewing & swallowing food.) I get mine at GNC for about $34 for a box of 12. Sounds steep but they last me approx. 3 weeks. Not too bad. I'll dilute mine in a bottle of water. Too sweet on their own. Yuck! Mare

Definately gonna have to look into protein bullets. I'm worried about not gettin all my protein in for the day too. I wanna lose weight as fast as I can, but I dont wanna be malnurished too.                                                                                            -Shelly-

One thing I didn't know when I tried (and failed) Soy protein: If you have thyroid issues, you need to stay away from soy of all types.
