OMG- Sheila has re-appeared!!!!
Hi to everyone! I certainly have missed my friends here at OH! A brief update- I am now 13 months post op- wt down from 246 to 179! I am in size 10-12's- that's down from 20's!
After much, much thought, I opted to precede with an abdominalplasty (TT) on 2/28/2008. I had consulted with my PS- Dr Mark Morgan , at Wilmington Plastics back in the fall and he said proceed with surgery when my wt had been stable for at least 3 months. I weighed 179 the week of Thanksgiving, and have kept my wt there. The 1st week after my TT was quite surprisingly easy- was shocked at how good I felt and how mobile I was....I took 2 weeks off work and "behaved"...ie- listened to doctor;s orders-
lots of rest, wore the compression binder, no lifting, etc. After returnng to work, I began to have minor comlications- with being a florist on on my feet all day- lower abd. began swelling and twice had to go to have my "belly tapped"- bloody fluid removed.....no biggie and actually greatly relieved the pressure of the swelling and discomfort
I am now 4 weeks post op and pretty much back to normal. Walking for exercise, but no BowFlex until Dr Morgan gives me his ok.
I have looked at so many folks profiles- Nancy, Mare, Darcie, Andrea, Barb, Amy, etc- you LOOK FABULOUS! Love you guys and have missed you guys.
I may be brave and post some post op PS photos- I LOVE my new belly- I was truly stunned and shocked the 1st time I saw it without bandages- what a HUGE difference. I feel like I am one of the first in "our group" to proceed with PS- It 's definitely a good thing in my book!
Hope to see everyone soon!
Much love,
Sheila
I am a work in progress and I am committed to progress with the work ahead of me.....
