new to the area
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say hello.
I am new to the area and wanted to connect to OH. Any support groups in my area?
I am about to celebrate my 2nd birthday on April 19. I had my bypass on that date and it is a wonderful wonderful birthday... Over 100 lbs...and still holding.
I am in Burke Co. Is there anyone out there from here?
If I can be of any help to anyone please do not hesitate to ask.
I am in Concord. We have a great support group once/month here at CMC-Northeast, but there may be a closer one in your area. We would be glad to have you any time in Concord!

Hi Welcome to NC.
I don't know what you consider a long drive but there's a support group in Asheville NC. I would guess about 50 min from Morganton. It's exit 50 on Route 40 West. It meets the first tuesday of every month at Missions Childrens Hospital Center. Take exit 50 for Route 25 South. (There will be signs to take 25 north for the Main Mission Campus so don't be fooled, you do want 25 South.) Then take a right at the light just pass the Huddle House for Vanderbilt Park (lots of medical offices) and it's the very last building in the Back. It starts at 6pm. They try to have a speaker for the first part of the meeting then they break into groups by which surgery you had for the last part. It's usually done by 7:30. You can call Eric at Mission Bariatric Program for more details and if you give him your email you'll get updates/reminders.
They have groups for RNY, Lap Band and VSG
