I'm Home!

Well, I'm home!!!  My surgery was Monday and I had hoped to be discharged on Wed. morning, but Dr. Enochs was tied up in surgery all day Wed., so he came by and discharged me Wed. night about 7:00. I am doing well - trying to get all the fluids in and my medications - they taste so horrible crushed and added to anything.  I'll have to figure something out for that. Everyone at Rex was super nice - I'm in very little pain except for my back (that always bothered me) and gas pains!!   I'm trying to walk around the house (inside) at least everyhour and I'm sipping, sipping, sipping.  Nothing tasted so good as my SF popcicle last night.  It was a little bit of heaven!!

WELCOME HOME & Best wishes on a speedy recovery!!! I am 3 weeks post op and feel wonderful!!!! Focus on your fluids, fluids, fluids!!!! My surgeon said the number one reason why post ops end up back in the hospital is because of dehydration, YUK!!! So hang in there and CONGRATULATIONS on making it to the Loser's Bench!!!

Thanks, I am really trying with the fluids. I am excited about this new adventure - I did have a few moments in the hospital when I thought - this is permanent girl - are you sure you know what you are doing - but I had no other choice and I intend to make the most of this tool!

Congrats Brenda!  I am 5 weeks out and one thing I can suggest is to keep a long of fluids, protein and calories.   It was a huge help for me! Take care and good luck in losing! Pam

I'm 22 days out from banding.  Keep walking and drinking, walking and drinking.  That seemed to get me past the pain of the surgery, the walking that is.  I'm about 21 lbs. lighter but have noticed not much this week and feel I can eat MUCH more.  Probably need that fill, but it's not scheduled until the 5th. Gongts on being home, I know I felt much better once I got home.
