Ok I posted some pics from one month out. And just who's idea is it that we have to take pics from the backside??? I have lost 27 lbs since surgery and 61 since my first docs appt. I took some measurements back around March 1st and then again tonite. I have lost a total of 16" since. I really dont see it except I wore a pair of jeans today that 2 months ago I could barely breath in. Well  anyways it is getting easier, food wise. And today was the first day I think I got in all my protein but I couldnt eat lunch I was way too full. I drank 74 gms of protein today .WOOHOOO finally! Thanks for all your support. Melissa

Thank you. It has been a bumpy road so far but I can see the smooth highway in the very near distance. Thanks again Melissa

Melissa -

The weight loss is evident in your face and your abdomen. I know it's hard to 'see' it ourselves ... especially in the first month, but it's there and the rest of us see it. I know that I really had trouble seeing it myself too. I think that we rarely 'look' at ourselves when we are big and when we do we focus on the area from the chest up ... you know ... if we allow a photo at all, we are standing behind something or someone ... LOL. Well, to be honest, I think that it allows us a false since of our own size, so that when we do start losing we don't have a real 'vision' of what our size was when we started ... Does that make sense? I know that may not be true for everyone, but I think it's more often the case than not for most of us. Taking these photos ... yes, even the back view will really help you as you continue to lose to be able to 'visualize' the metamorphosis taking place.

Sooooo, as I said, please know that while it's hard for you to 'see' the changes that are happening, know that we are seeing them and eventually you will see them too.

Keep up the hard work ... It's going to get easier. I promise.

Barb, I had to add a response to your comment about not having a real vision of our true before size.  I still am overwhelmed by looking at some of my before pictures.  I knew I was big, but I never really saw how big I was.  I've had the same experience with some of my friends.  Now that I've lost so much, a friend was saying she almost forgot what I looked like before.  So, I pulled out my before pictures.  She was floored & said, I don't remember you looking that big.  I guess that's a true friend, she saw me for who I was, not what I looked like.  Kind of sweet actually.  But I think we're the same way with ourselves, and you're right...we spent a lot more time looking in mirrors at the neck up!  :)

Thanks Barb. I know it's gone and yes I used to hide behind the camera. I know when my kids get older they are going to wonder where I was for the first part of their lives. I mostly have always not liked my pic being taken. There was only one time in my life when I thought it was ok and I was like 19 and what does a 19 yr old know! LOL I wasnt happy about taking my pic from behind but I knew it had to be done to compare later with so I told my DH to hurry up and get it over with b4 I changed my mind. NowI have another question. How do you put to pics side by side? I would like to see if I can put my b4 and each month after beside it. Again thanks you are always such an encouragement to us all.  Melissa

Hi Melissa -

If you have a program like PowerPoint, open up a blank file and import or insert your photographs into the new blank document. Set them up the way that you want them to appear. Then group the images together. This will basically create one new image. You can then save the new image as a .jpg file.

I hope that helps.

Melissa, I can totally see the difference in your face!  & 16 inches lost is pretty significant.  This is definitely working for you, so congratulations!

Thanks Deb. As Isaid to Barb I know it is pretty much the same for everyone. It is hard to see ourselves as getting smaller. I hope when I see some people that I havent seen in awhile they will be able to tell. And I was very shocked about the 16" . I thought I was just losing it in my face and I cant measure it! LOL Melissa
