How Long Did It Take
I was never sick, have not thrown up once and am down for a size 18-20 to a 14. I did go through a rough week about 2 mo. out and could not drink or eat. I had to have the opening stretched a little (I got dehydrated) and after that was immediately better. Dr. B is a great Dr. He expects you to do EXACTLY what he tells you to. I have 3 friends at work that have had surgery with him too. I can not get the protein in like I should with shakes. I HATE THEM ALL! Now that I can eat basically anything, I am doing fairly well getting it in. I hope it goes well for you!

Hey Leeann! Let me tell you my experience. It took me a year to decide whether I wanted the surgery and when I finally decided(with the insistance of my family doctor!) it actually took about 4 months. I have BCBS and they will approve it if it is medically necessary. But what held me up is they got some of the info mixed up so it took about a month longer than it would have normally. And this also involved all my doctor appts. too.My insurance required me to have ALL my doctor visits before it would approve. Then it took them a month to get me the word for me to go ahead with my surgery. I had my rny March 10, 08 and have lost 32 lbs. Hang in there , you will eventually get it all done!! Best of luck to you!! Angela
I'm a Dr. Bauman patient, too.
I saw him in August '06 for my consult and had surgery March '07. My main holdup was insurance approval. I had to go through a couple of insurance companies and do some fighting to get it approved, but it took approximately 8-9 months before surgery. Once I had insurance approval, my surgery date was within 2 weeks' time.
