Excited!!!

I have my first consultation with Dr. Pender tomorrow finally!!  I am very nervous because I do not know what to expect.  Can you share what you went through with you first consultation.  I think I am more nervous that he will say that he won't do it or something else will go wrong!!  I guess we will see. Don't stress out! Dr. Pender is one of the best !  He gets right down to business and will be very honest and open with you.  When I saw him the first time I got a cold vibe from him but I think that he tries to stay serious because this is  MAJOR surgery. He tol me I had to loose 25 lbs. before he would do it... my BMI is 64.5 and He said he wanted it to be 60. I lost 15 and it came right back... still struggling... So as long as you don't miss any pre-op appointments and don't gain any weight before the surgery he should Ok you. Good Luck!

Hey girl!!! YAY!! I know you are excited! I just saw Dr. Pender for my 2 1/2 week follow up...
JUST be prepared to hear the truth!! He is VERY tell it how it is and if you don't like it, it doesn't really matter...LOL He follows things by his book and thats that!! But as Megan said, he is one of the best. You may not like him at first because he is so serious and makes these little snide remarks when you try to make excuses, but he is top notch and I hung in there with him and could not have asked for better results :)
He just expects his patients to comply with ALL of his rules, so that you get  the best results & success possible,  which is completely understandable!! But coming from someone almost 3 weeks post-op with Dr. Pender, even though his personality is tough, he IS GOOD!!! And I have yet to have a single problem :) Just take a DEEP breath when he walks thru that door..LOL You will do fine and I cannot wait until you get back to us on how it went!! ((HUGS))

Amanda, Congrats I know it is exciting I just went to Dr. Pender myself today for my decision appoitmnet and like Jamie said he is very straight to the point but I have found that he is great. I have had all my appointments and not had any problem and they have answered any questions that I have had, be ready to do what ever he says.  I am so glad for us!!!!  It is a time consuming process but don't get discouraged met Dr. Pender the first time December 27th and am just getting to my decision visit now just have to wait for insurance and then I am on my way to the surgery date.  Lots of luck and keep an open mind with him, like everyone else has already said he is one of the BEST!! 

Just you wait...  this phase of your journey will be over before you know it.  THEnnnnnnnnnnnn We will see you on the losers bench!!  wooo hoooo.  YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY!!  Congrats.  Hang on.... you are gonna turn around and be a loser!  Connie
