Hi Melissa -
The cottonmouth issue is probably from slight dehydration. Be sure that you are getting in at least 64 ounces of fluid a day. That should ease the cottonmouth feeling.
The bruising is not uncommon and according to my Dr., mine was related to the blood thinners I was given during surgery. I know it's un-nerving, but it will get better soon.
I wouldn't worry about taking communion. I doubt that the small amount of wine and wafer will harm you, but you should check with your Dr's office just to be sure.
I hope that you are doing well.
Have a lovely day,
Barb

I understand and I know that it can be disconcerting ... Honestly, if you have any concern at all, please call your Dr. You won't be bothering him.
It will pass soon.
Take care,
Barb
