Blessings

The gym is closed so I just went for a 2 mile walk.  It should have been longer but the lazy bug was whispering in my ear to go home and hold down the couch with a good book.  As I was walking and enjoying the glorious weather, I couldn't help but think about Deb's friend, Will, who was just lost in Iraq.  I couldn't help but realize that life isn't so bad.  My beautiful 4 year old daughter is with her dad this weekend but she is healthy and safe.  I don't particularly care for her father, he wasn't much of a dad until he got a new wife.  There have been times in the past that things were pretty nasty between us.  Luckily things have settled down and everyone works to provide a loving and supportive environment for our daughter.  However, I sometimes catch myself questioning his motives for all of a sudden wanting to be a good dad.  But you know on this beautiful Easter morning when there is a wife, a young daughter and an unborn little one who have lost their loved one, how can you think that your situation is bad?  In retrospect, it doesn't matter why my daughter's father has stepped up to be a better dad.  I don't care if its the new wife or anything else, I'm just so thankful that I'm not spending this Easter talking to my four year old about death and why daddy isn't here anymore.   I hope we all take time today to realize our blessings and be thankful for them.  Christy

Well said Christy and that really puts things in the right perspective. Thanks for the reminder. Lisa

Christy -

You are so right. I was having my own 'bad day' ... When I read of Deb's loss, I decided to work on putting into perspective. As you say, we have so much for which to be grateful.
