Okay so last night I was doing easter baskets for the kids and had a ton of jelly beans and the robin eggs and I tell you I NEVER EVER realized how much of a habit it was to pop jellybeans in my mouth throughout this process of basket making and egg stuffing...LOL I even caught my husband doing it and he is diabetic and I don't even think he realized what he was doing..hahaha!
I am of course 2 1/2 weeks post op and I actually had to keep reminding myself, DON'T let those buggers go anywhere near your mouth...or else I will be in BIG trouble!! UGH!!!! Well to solve my dilemma ya know what i did??? I popped in a piece of sugar free EXTRA gum...watermelon flavor :) and it was yummy!! I would just hate to see what 1 little 'ol jelly bean would do to the new me

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day!!

Good thinking Jamie....retraining ourselves takes some effort.  I am luck as my kids are 18 and 27 so i just bought them a bunny and bag of jelly beans and handed them over in the bag...lmao!  Voila....no temptation! Take care, Pam

HAHAHA...ahhhh I wi**** were that easy :)
Everywhere I turn there are jellybeans in my house.
I don't know what I was thinking...hahaha!! Oh well what do ya do, right?!! I just didn't realize how automatic it was to just munch on a handful of them here and there.  But now that I can't have them, I realize how much i really love them little beans of sugar

Oh, I totally understand!  I love jelly beans!  Thankfully, Ryan doesn't like them so I didn't even buy any this year.  Otherwise I would have had a pretty hard time.  I also love, love love peeps!  My dad found the sugar free ones and bought me some.  I tired one.  They were OK, but a far cry from the real thing.  I think I'd rather just skip it.   Your gum idea is a great suggesstion.  I have adapted most of my cooking to make things safe for me to eat, but every now and then I make things for other people.  I made a trifle for easter, which would have been fine, except for the pound cake.  As I was cutting the pound cake I realized I used to eat any of the imperfect pieces, and wow...were there a lot of those!  What a wake-up call.  I was tempted many times, that's for sure!  I'll have to try the gum thing next time!
