Gallbladder...

I posted this on the RNY message board too but here it goes. Ok, so I have been having pain since Saturday night in my side and up under my ribs. It got really bad Monday, so I went to the doctor on Tuesday. He sent me to get an ultrasound and it didn’t show anything. All it did was cause A LOT more pain and was an awful experience. So then I had to get a HIDA scan. It showed that my gallbladder is only working 35%. I called my surgeon, but I can get an appointment until Tuesday. So, until then, I will be sitting here in pain because the meds that my doctor gave me are not working. So I am not sure if I will be getting my gallbladder out or not. I am staying away from fatty foods and all that stuff. Is there anything else I can do to help with the pain and soreness? I am supposed to be going on vacation to Pigeon Forge Sunday – Tuesday, so I don’t want to be in a lot of pain.
Thanks!!!

Sorry to hear about your pain. Iw ish I could tell you something to do but I dont know anything else. I had gall bladder problems when I was preggers with my last kid. I thought he was just trying to kill me but found out it was my gall bladder and they removed it like an emergency because the baby wasnt getting any nutrients. Was a bad thing... long story short I was supposed to be in hospital over nite and it turned into 5 nites. Was a scary situation. But I survived and so did the baby. Anyways, maybe a warm bath might help. They say that loosens everything up and relaxes everything. Ihope youget to feeling better soon. Good luck Melissa

Sorry to hear about the pain but I can relate!  I had my gall bladder out on December 20th.  I thought I would  die before my surgery finally got here.  To ease my pain I basically lived on mylanta and tums - yummy as they are!  I also cut out fatty foods, spicy foods and anything with a lot of acid in it but that only helped a little bit for me.  Now that I have my gall bladder out I am a much happier person!  Oh, and it also helped with the constipation issue... I know TMI....lol!  Good luck!
