I must have the best husband in the world....

Last night a limo arrived at my gate ( first time I was ever in one ) .... and I along with my DH was taken to the Michael Buble concert at Bobcats arena here in Charlotte,, WOW I HAD A BLAST . But I must share with you all something that made me so very sad.... while standing in line to buy me a t-shirt ( you know a girl must have one ) , a woman of size in front of us asked to see the largest shirt , it was a 2 XL ( my biggest size was a 3 XL so I understand ) ... when the fellow handed her the shirt she held it up and said , sorry this will not fit, my heart just fell for this lovely woman, I wanted to tell her " You can break FREE from the weight like I did and all my loser friends did " , but one can't do that.  Then after we took our seats ( which by the way were WONDERFUL lower level ) , these 2 young girls mabye 20's came walking by , both so pretty and of a large size, they  could not hardly fit in the seats, the girls I could tell were so embrassed but luckly for them the people on the sides of them allow extra space for them, I was so proud of the ladies that gave the extra space , pushing the issue of " these seats are so small " , so the larger girls did not feel anymore embrassed.... Losers do you remember when we were the larger butts, how we dreaded the " SEAT " anywhere we went in fear we would not fit, Boy o boy I do, the airplane , the movies and of course concerts... Remember where you have come from. Love to you all and my Dear wonderful husband Gavin , you have made my dreams come true, by loving me at 320 pounds or 150 pounds I truly Thank the good Lord for allowing  me to have you , what a huge honor it is. Girl you brought tears to my eyes this morning! First I am so happy you are loving your life, your hubby and your baby! Second its great to see that not only do you appreciate everything you have now, but still always remember where you came from and have sympathy for those struggling with things you no longer have it. Its important for us to always remember who we were before because that is what makes us who we are now.

Great story and what a gem of a DH you have....  Oh, I would LOVE to see Michael Buble... he is one of my all time favorites.  he actually came here to PCMH a few years ago to surprise one of the resident physicians who was disabled and he sang a couple of songs.  It was on the news and in the paper, etc.  Al Roker was involved in it somehow... he was here too.  it was broadcasted on the TODAY show that morning.   SO, how was the concert?  I love the stories of the ladies you saw... we must never forget what it felt like to be in those type situations.  That will help us keep our weight off and maintain our compasion for those who are not as fortunate as us to have had WLS surgery.  I have 3 trips coming up over the next 2 months and I am so thankful that for the first time in many years, I WILL NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE SEATBELT FITTING!   That in and of itself will raise the enjoyment of travel.  I LOVE to fly, but have dreaded it since gaining all the weight.

No fair, no fair, not EVEN fair.  You made me cry.  Now everyone at the office is going to wonder what's wrong with me, and it's all your fault!! What a touching tribute to a couple with enough compassion to fuel a sun.  Thank you for this story about human love and caring.

WOW! I love this post. I'm not far out and I can sit...comfortably...for the 1st time in years.

I do remember going to concerts at Jones Beach when I still lived in NY. What a chore that was. Sometimes "standing room only" too. That was bad too. Oy! My friend bought concert tickets all the time 'cuz she knew I loved them. But as I got bigger and it became more difficult I didn't have the heart to tell her "I just can't anymore." I sure miss them. (And, no, I never bought a t-shirt either.) *sigh*      Your Gavin sounds like a dream. But as far as best husband in the world? I'm pretty sure I've got him. ;O) xoxo Mare

I remember those days so well. I didn't fit into the booth at what a burger in Mt. Plesant. Had to get my big burger and ff's and jumbo tea to go.
