A little concerned here... Need help

April 27th will be my one year.. For the last month, I have been experiencing something that is a little scary... I have been having what seems to be congestion but when I finally cough it up.. it's fresh blood mixed with either phelgm or with a "tissue lining" like substance and what I cough up is only a very small amount... I thought it was from a vessal popping from coughing... but I realize that I haven't been coughing that hard.... It feels funny because I can feel the congestion rattling in the chest and windpipe before I cough... It doesn't happen every day... has only happened 4 or 5 times so far over the course of a month or so... Was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar.... not sure if it's from my pouchie, from lungs or from my hernia which has been crazy since last June.... I was trying to hold off until I see the doctor next month...

Sounds like something that you should address SOONER rather than later. JMO

At the very least, please call your doctor's office and tell them exactly what you have told us.  Don't "hold out" any longer.  Love yourself enough to call the doctor's office.  You deserve to take care of yourself. And please keep us informed.

Thank you all for your responses... I called Dr. Chapman's office this afternoon and am awaiting a return call from his nurse... They are short-handed today so I am waiting.. I plan on telling her everything... if I don't hear from her by tomorrow evening.. I will contact my pcp and see what I can do there... if that fails... then it's the ER.... haven't felt good at all today... so am getting a little more worried now... I will post what I find out... Please keep me in your prayers... Thanks to my NC WLS family....

Hi Nelle, Now I am going to be a nag and a bit bossy and ask you to call your doctor's office RIGHT NOW.  You should have gotten a callback by now.  Frankly I would contact my PCP.  Surgeons are much good at anything but cutting, IMHO.  But PLEASE don't wait until tomorrow evening.  Call now and get an appt for tomorrow MORNING to be seen by your PCP.  And if you get to feeling any worse, please go to the ER.  It can't hurt any.  And it just might get you into the solution a bit sooner!  Good luck!

Nelle...I would pester the doc to get you in and if that doesn't work, head to the E.R.    You deserve to take care of yourself! Keep us posted and my prayers are with you! Pam
