Well today marks 3 weeks since my life changed. I know it was for the good but sometimes I wonder. I have lost 23 lbs since surgery and 57 since my first docs appt. I have been thru some tough emotional times and want to thank you all for your encouraging words. My surgery was inspired by an old friend and I seen her this weekend and she looked great. We were able to sit and talk and she really ansered alot of my questions.  She was yet again, an inspiration. She even showed me how to make tuna salad. Altho I really think I will do it with chicken. Can't say that the albacore was tasty.  But I did manage to eat about 2 tbsp on 4 wheat thins. My pouch was so happy to have crackers I swear it was doing leaps and summersauts. Anyways I just wanted to say thank you for your help. Now I must start going thru baby things and lots of other junk this week for a huge community yard sale. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Melissa

hi Melissa, WOW,  23/57, that is so great!  You should be so proud of yourself.  the emotional stuff gets better the further you go.  don't give up on the tuna salad, fish is REALLY good for you.  Maybe try some broiled salmon, just don't cook it too much or it will be tough.  Glad to hear from you, take care, alice

Glad to know I am not the only one without energy. Last week I was drained! I hope this week is better. Thanks for the words of encouragement.

I'll let you know what my docs says tomorrow.  Don't know if it is just the surgery, low calories or something else.   Thought I would have moreenergy at this point. Take care, pam

Melissa, Don't worry ~ your feelings about everything are perfectly normal.  I don't think there is a one of us who hasn't at one point thought "What the heck did I do to myself???"  But you are doing great with your weight loss and as long as you continue to do what your surgeon tells you too, you will get to feeling better and your energy will come back.  Congrats on your success so far and keep up the good work!! Hugs, Donna

Melissa -

Congratulations on your losses/wins! Please know that the first few weeks really are the hardest; it will get better from here on out. It seems to me like the first few weeks are almost like boot camp or when you first get home with a new baby. It's hard work and there are soooo many adjustments to make, but eventually you get the hang of it, things settle in and it becomes a distant memory.

Keep doing what you are doing. You will be amazed at the changes you see in yourself physically, psychologically and emotionally as each new month passes.
