Jennifer, Thank you I knew I would get a great post about my question. I always try to buy organics in most everything. Just need some kind of a guideline to base my intake limits on. BTW fiber is a friend along with miralax it has been so helpful I feel like a new woman.                                         Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

Jennifer, it's so funny you mention the 100 calorie packs...there was just an article online about what they're calling the "junk-food dieters" who have come about since the 100 calorie snack craze.

My nutritionist specifically told me not to buy them because they're basically empty calories...and I thought I was being good.  LOL!

Yeah... you get stuck on the "only 100 calories" part and not look at anything else. Its almost like the Weigh****chers products - many are loaded with sugar... they almost defeate their own purpose, but WW doesnt really have you look at sugar so it doesnt 'matter' to those following the plan. I saw they now have 100 calorie candy bars out too... problem is they are so small most people dont just eat 1. :-) I just try and take the time to pre-portion out my own '100 calorie packs' I bought those small sized plastic baggies - the 1/2 ones and put my snacks in there. Its also cheaper to do that as well!  I will have to say its markets genius on the food manfu part - those 100 calorie packs cost around $2.50 a box (at walmart) and have about 1/2 the volume if you went and bought a regular box/bag of whatever you were eating... there are what 4-6 servings in each? There is typically more than that in a box/bag ... they are making a fortune! Also it makes people think its 'ok' to eat the cookies/candy/crackers because its "only" 100 calories.
