I am so frustrated.  Had my surgery on 2/19 and lost 14 lbs in the 2 weeks before on liquids and then 17 lbs  in the following 17 days.   I eat between 500 and 700 calories per day.   I haven't lost an ounce over the past 5 days and it is getting very frustrating.   I walk every day and still nothing.  Any suggestions to get this jump started again?  Been thinking about going back on liquids just to get the scale moving. Thanks, Pam

you could be loosing inches. I would not loose but could see it in my clothing and in inches. I am 2 years and 8 months out and keep it 500 or under calories. And I am a sick puppy.

Hey Amy: Think at this point nut wants me between 600 and 800 and then at 6 weeks between 800 and 1000.  How do you survive on 500 long term? Have you been able to get the help you need?  I am praying for you my friend. Take care, Pam

HI Pam,    We are in the same boat. I had surgery 2/21 lost 10lbs on liquid diet and 15lbs afterward and now the scale only moves up.However the reason I had this surgery was to lower my blood sugar and I have suceeded in that big time.I may be destined to stay a big fat cow, but as long as my sugar is low I can postpone my dream of being a Sports Illustrated Swim Suit model. Everyone will tell us that we have been thru trauma, body has to heal, yada yada and it's true. It will happen and we can thong shopping together

Dont give up! You have already lost a great deal of weight! your body is probably going WHOA I need to slow down and mellow out for a bit! I go through the same thing now where no loss for a week or two then BOOM down 2/3 lbs! Try not to fret and try not to weigh yourself everyday!!! Best of luck to ya!

((((Pam)))),

Go read my profile June/July/Aug 2007 ... You'll think I'm talking about you! LOL I promise, it will start moving soon and you'll be just delighted ... that's why you need to read into August  ;-).

Also, my program had me on 900 cals until I started shift towards maintaining. If you go too low, it causes your body to hold on tighter to those pounds you have. They really studied the thresholds and found that 900 really works best to keep you fueled enough to lose, but not so much that you won't lose ... did that make sense? Soooo, it may be that you aren't getting enough calories. I started tracking my intake on fitday mostly so I could see what I was doing re: protien, but a side benefit was seeing my caloric intake. I have to say that often when I was seeing a stall, I also realized that my caloric intake a dropped too low ... I think I even blogged about that.

Hang in there sweetie ... that scale will give in soon. I promise!

Thanks Barb: My doc and nut said from week 2 to 6 i am to take in 600 to 800 and 70 to 80 g of protein.   I keep a log to make sure i get this but will try to get to the top of the calorie range and see if that helps. Thanks again, Pam

Pam -

While we all have opinions and our own experiences with our own programs ... You Dr and Nut and what they say are the most important to follow. I know that you have a level head and work hard to do what they've told you. Please don't hear me telling you to deviate from their suggestions or question them ... Just follow their protocol. You'll do fine.
