Still Fat Still Crabby my 3 weeks post op from RNY
Congratulations on getting those glucose readings down ... and with the reduced meds!
My program also was very conservative with a full liquid diet for the first 3.5 weeks. I dropped about 15 lbs the first 10 days then not a single pound!!!! It drove me crazy. I thought OMG, I'm the one person it's not going to work for. You can read about it in my profile. Welllll, if you look at my photos of the before/after, it's apparent that it did work. Some folks retain fluids post op and it takes a while for it to clear your system. On top of that, many of us have this darn stall that starts just about as fast as we have the surgery. Apparently, it's often worse if you were losing prior to surgery. The good news is that you will lose the weight ... I thought that I was a slow loser, it turned out that I was comparing apples to oranges and that actually I was on track for someone with my demographics ... you too may be doing better than you are giving yourself credit for ... A Hawaiian Tropic Thong may be in your future after all! :-)
Like you, the REASON I did this was because I wanted the diabetes resolved. By the time I was about 6 weeks out, it was and still is. My latest HbA1C was 5.2!!! I'll bet numbers like that are in your future too. My size 6/8 pants are the cherry on top, but I'll bet you'll be wearing thong with Cherries this summer ;-)
Hang in there and get ready for the bikini wax ... it's closer than you think!
