HEY everyone!!!  I just wanted to let yall know that I am alive and doing well!!  I got discharged from the hospital yesterday (Saturday, March 8th) on schedule. We got in about 4pm. I have to say the WINDYYYYY hour and a half ride home wasn't the smoothest, but it was overall great to be home!! MY mom who was staying with my kiddos, said I looked FANTASTIC and she already could tell a difference in my tummy...LOL WOOHOO!!! She couldn't believe how good i was doing with the fact that 3 days prior i had my guts rearranged. I did weigh myself right before we left the hospital and lost 4lbs. during my stay, which even surprised the nurse because she says everyone tends to gain weight..but yeah, I already had my loss!! So I got a good nights sleep last night and of course and still sore, but I honestly feel good...hopefully it stays on this track! I am on a 2 week "OPTISOURCE" liquid diet..which is 8 ozs. for the entire day along with all the H2o I can drink..as Darcie told you about my lovely KFC encounter in the recovery room..LOL I have had a few more lovely food encounters, but i actually just laugh about it and figure it is great stuff to add to my journal
Thank you to all for the wonderful support and well wishes, I got on here late last night to read several of them and the tears just fell. YOu are all genuinely amazing and have touched me greatly in this new journey in my life and i cannot say thank you enough!! So here I am, at home safe and sound and just thrilled that it is actually done and over and I am actually on my way to starting my new life...JUST LIKE THAT!! woohoo!!

Hey Jami!  I was just thinking about you and was popping in to see if there were any updates (and I just saw Darcie's post about her visit...she is an AWESOME angel!  Wow!)

I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling great and doing so well!  I can't wait to see you again...hopefully you'll come to the support group meeting again?  I have a TON of clothes to pass your way!  :)

Thanks for the update!

Welcome home Jami!  It sounds as if you breezed right through it.  I hope that my experience this week matches yours.  Keep up the good work and soon your clothes are going to fall off just like the pounds are going to! Take care! Susan

Hi Jami: Welcome home. I hope that you have a smooth and easy transition with your new pouch! Already sounds like you are doing well. Yes, I was one that had like a 10 pound gain at first, but then quickly dropped down in the week after I got home. I just wish the pounds consistenly came off that easy now....lol. It is an incredibly good feeling to know that the surgery part of the journey is done. I can remember that feeling. I wish you much success as you learn your new lifestyle.  Lisa

Welcome Home Jami!!! You made it to the bench GF. One day soon you will laugh at yourself about crying over the grill cheese. At the time it was not funny. We learn so much after this surgery and one thing I learned is we have been slaves to food for a long time. I am glad you posted about the grill cheese because I think we can all relate to how you were feeling. So buckle that seat belt Jami you are going on the jouney of your life. We are here if you need us.                                            Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?
