Another Newbie in Raleigh

Hi All- I'm a 33 yo professional female-- and I am SO looking forward to getting my new birthday date nailed down!   I know you all know what I mean by that.  I feel like I will be starting a new phase in my life after a lifetime of being overweight and I am so excited! I don't have a date yet, but I do have a surgical consult scheduled at Duke on the 21st of March.  I'm hoping to have a surgery date by May. When Duke WLS called me to tell me that I was approved for the surgery and scheduled the appt on the 21st, I really started getting a case of the nerves!  Of course I have done my research and I'm in a couple of other groups that deal with WLS- but this is the one that is continually mentioned-- so here I am. Nice to meet you all and I look forward to bombarding you with all the simple questions I'm sure you've all heard before!

Hi neighbor! I am in Raleigh as well.  I live right next to Cary.  I am also having surgery with Duke.  I am approved and am just waiting on my letter from the insurance co. to arrive so I can get a date!  I am so beyond ready!  It has been a long road but I know it will be worth it in the end.  Nice to meet you!  Enjoy your Sunday! I had my surgery through Duke last summer and my husband in is the application process with them now. Congratulations on your insurance approval and surgery date. I know how incredibly exciting that is.

I am also in Raleigh. I hold a monthly get together the 3rd Sat morning of each month. If you are able to join us next week please do.
