My first fill

So I had my first fill on Tuesday, and things went really well.  Easy-peasy. It's funny how the mind can play tricks on us.  Because my Lap Band surgery was complicated with a hernia repair and everything was really grouchy inside, the surgeon didn't "prime" my band with saline, and it was almost completely empty.  But I didn't know that!  So this whole past six weeks I've been thinking I had about 3-5cc and have been eating accordingly, but it was a complete and total ruse! Since the fill, I seriously know what the Band is supposed to feel like.  Hurray!   I was stalled with weight loss for a couple of weeks and was REALLY working this board to get support through that.  (Y'all are awesome, you know.) Since Tuesday -- WHAM!  SPLAT!  KERPLUNCH!  -- a bunch of pounds that were teetering on the brink the past two weeks decided to take the plunge after all.  Glad to know they can be decisive, the little outlaws.

Thanks, everyone!   I'm so appreciative of this forum and the heroes herewithin.  I had my post-op psych follow-up and was telling the psychologist how motivating the folks here are.  It won't be long before N.C. insurance companies add this forum to their guidelines for follow-up care and WLS compliance accountability! Although Bandits and GB patients have some different post-op needs, the basics are the same:  caring, sharing, and daring to do the best we can.  It's great to have this community as we're all charting our journeys and doing just that.

Kim -

I'm delighted to hear that you are doing so very well. Congratulations on getting the scale to surrender those pounds!

I want you to know that I and I know many others on this forum feel truly blessed to have you among us. Your witty way with words and thoughtful consideration often put a smile on face and give me food for thought.

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and thoughts.
