New to Gastric Bypass
Hi Angela -
Welcome to the NC Board ... and as you say, to the "family." We really do come to know one another and truly care about each other's lives, progress, and journey. I truly look forward to getting to know you.
As you mentioned, support is key to successfully navigating this lifechange. As you know, WLS will help you take off the weight and give you a significant tool you can use to help keep it off, but it is not a magical cure. It takes making some serious lifestyle changes to get the maximum benefit from the surgery and then to keep off the weight. The support that I have gotten from the many friends I have made on this journey has really helped me immensley. I cannot imagine making this voyage without the support and help I have gotten here.
I have a support group that meets once a month on the 3rd Sat of the month; you can find out the details at http://wls.meetup.com/101. I also recently completely the OH Support Group Leader Training and I'm going to be starting a virtual support group soon, so if you are interested in participating in that just stay tuned.
Again, welcome to the board and know that there is no such thing as a stupid question. We all learn from one-another's questions, comments and experiences.
Warmly,
Barb
