Do you ever have trouble envisioning yourself slim?

While I know that some of us put on the extra pounds after we were adults, many of us have never seen what we might look like without the extra weight we have carried for so many years. I have used www.myvirtualmodel.com to simulate the changes I would see as I lost the weight. It's truly amazing, and with the exception of the excess skin ... lol ... it has actually been quite accurate.

Here is my surgery, now and goal images ... While the surgery image is a bit forgiving, there are some real similarities, but what's most impressive to me is that the now view, is really very accurate. If you go to my profile and look at my recent before and after photos I took in Feb, I think you'll probably agree.

If you are wondering what you might look like in a few months, you might want to give it a try. It's kind of fun and gives you a shot in the arm when sometimes the going gets tough.

Enjoy,

Barb

P.S. I still can't figure out how to incorp a graphic image into my text files, so I guess you'll have to look at my profile if you want to see the virtual me. Sorry. If someone can tell me how make a .gif show up in my post, please do share ;-)

Thanks for the link Barb I will have to take a deep breath before going to play with my virtual model. I am just now getting to the point of looking in the mirror and being pleased this is a first but with clothes on. There is a big part of me that is still in disbelif that even the thought of getting to a somewhat normal weight just dosent seem real. The other day at mothers she made a statement and that was "there is that little girl I havent seen in years". After she said it I told her that she has always been there just hiding.                                      Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

Barb,  I did the virtual model thing!  It was so cool and very encouraging!  It's motivating to see how you could look!   I have my nutritionist, psych, and pulmonary appointments this week.  I hope everything goes well.  I am getting more and more excited about taking this step to make my life better.  You and everyone else on this board are great encouragers and show so much care and support for each other.  Hooray for the members of the NC Weight Loss Forum! Amanda -

I'm glad that you enjoyed the virtualmodel ... it was really encouraging to me and what I really like is that it's even closer to the actual me as I get smaller ... pretty cool 'eh!?

I agree that this is a stellar forum. Some of the others have 'infighting' issues and squabbling that makes me uncomfortable sometimes, I have to say that almost never happens here. For that I'm very grateful. I am so pleased to have developed some very real friendships here. I look forward to getting to know you better as we make our respective journies.

Barb
