6 month Follup Appointment
Well even though I'm 7 months out, I had my 6 month follow up yesterday with Dr. Chapman. It was a great visit and a possitive one. I had blood drawn so hopefully I'll be able to find out those results either today or Monday. I'm currious about my iron levels, so far they've been great and I've not been taking an iron suppliment, but because of that I'm always worried it will be low. I don't want to drink that nasty crap!! Blegh!! LOL
Both the resident as well as Dr. Chapman were very impressed with my progress as well as the amount of excess skin that I don't have. I just looked at them like they were crazy, because *I* see excess skin, but apparently in comparison to others I don't have nearly as much. That was really cool to hear I guess.
He also said that with the rate I'm going that 140 was probably a more reasonable goal weight for me than 155. 140 isn't unhealthy for me so I shouldn't be worried about getting too thin. I simply can't imgine what I'll look like at 140.... I was just getting used to the idea of being 155 some day... but 140 sounds so Not Me...LOL. I guess we will see!
Over all it was a very possitive visit AND I got in and out of there pretty quickly which was a huge relief because I was pressed for time. Even in the lab for the blood draw... in and out. Boom! I love it!! :)
So, now the wait for the lab reults. Hopefully everything will be good. :)

OoOoOoOo... I just spoke with one of the nurses in the department of surgery and he said that all my levels are GREAT! WooooHoooo! Even my H&H which would indicate a possible iron deficiency if it were low. So Hot Damn!!
Dr. C was giving me just a little bit of grief about not going ahead and taking the iron suppliment and I told him if my counts were low I would definitely get right on it... YAY! I aint drinkin no nasty stuff... yet! LOL

Hey Holley -
We're going to start calling you "Holley Go Lightly" soon! LOL
I know what you mean about just starting to get your head around a weight in the 150's and then find out that the 140's are likely. I have to tell you that I didn't even really imagine it a year ago. It was more of a fantasy than reality. I think we'll have to get together sometime and compare notes...
Congratulations on a job so very well done.
Barb
P.S. Don't worry so about the labs. Most likely they will be good. Many folks do fine with iron absorption, some don't ... but it can easily be managed most of the time.
