What's going on????

My goodness...my tiny tummy seems to be taken over by aliens!!!  All of a sudden protein bullets make me vomit and water gives me horrible stomach cramps. Crystal light is too sweet. The only liquid i seem to tolerate is the new low cal gatorade. Is this normal to no longer tolerate things that quickly? Also I too seem to be struggling to get in my protein. Honestly, I'm not eating very much or even very often. No wonder I'm not losing much weight. Any suggestions for some high protein meals that are very small and another liquid? Thanks guys!!!

I'm 6 months out and things are starting to get too sweet for me.  So I've started diluting things. I love the Ocean Spray Diet CranGrape (with splenda) and the Diet V8 Spash (wih splenda). But like Crystal Light or Wylers Light, they are too sweet, so I dilute it with a little water in my glass.  In a 16 oz cup I will put somewhere between 1/2 to 3/4 drink and then add ice and water.   It helps for me.  I've never been able to tolerate the protein bullets. I drink Isopure both the clear liquid drink and the powders.

Oh! You might try to order some Unjury sample packs and see if the "unflavored" affects you.  Also, Sytrax? (Makers of Nectar) have a Lemon Tea protein drink. You can order a sample off Bariatriceating.com.

I am 2 years and 8 months out. I use 1/2 of the pack of crystal light. The only one I like is the orange sunrise. The only way I get in protein is peanut butter and chicken. Thats about all I eat. Take it form me you need to eat it will catch up with you down the road.

I cannot do protein drinks at all..  Those bullets make me wanna puke.  LOL  And lots of things are too sweet.  I get my protein from food.  :) And hey.. the tiny tummy can be cantankerous (well mine can be anyway).  Hope you fell more "normal" soon!

Mine too!  Can't eat and the only liquid I seem to tolerate is diet swiss miss cocoa and FUZE slenderize cranberry raspberry.  VERY little protein going in at this point.  My doc said that it's very normal to change what we can tolerate along the way.  They also said not to worry about the eats until the end of the week (I called on Tuesday) but if I didn't feel any better to call back.  I'm definitely calling tomorrow as I feel sick and week all the time.  I would check with your doc if this has gone on for more than a week.  Good Luck! I'm sorry that you are having such a hard time right now. Different people react differently even if they have the same surgeon, so it's really hard to say why we react the way that we do.

I still don't really like very sweet things. In some part, it may be due to the new plumbing, but I think it also has something to do with coming off all the sugar that we used assault ourselves with. To this day, I'm not a huge fan of Cokes and only drink Crystal Light at half strength. Some folks have issues with protien period, others have issues with specific types of protien. So you might check and see if it is the protien source or protien in general that is giving you problems. It might be the protien source. I just responded to Mare yesterday re: some good protien sources and gave her a recipe for cottage cheese pancakes. She's also been having some rumbly tummy issues and they seemed to work well for her. You might check that post and see if any of those suggestions would work for you.

Hugs,

Barb

Thanks everybody. Great idea to order sample packs of protein.I'm going to try diluting the crystal light and try to eat more. Maybe fish or chicken. The pancake recipe looks good Barb, so I think I'll try that too. thanks again everyone for all your suggestions.
