3yrs later&still waiting but hope to get-r-done NOW!!!!!
It took me 11 months from start to finish, but I had insurance issues... Usually it takes about 2-3 months. The testing they do is EKG, CHest x-ray, H pylori test, and then bloodwork to make sure everything is up on that end. Then a NUT consult and Psych Eval and that is it I believe. I would get that paperwork from them again. I know they are having a seminar this tuesday, you should try to attend that one so you can get that paperwork to turn in if you decide to go with them.

I had my surgery at UNC and BCBS was wonderful they paid for the phych eval and nut eval.
I started at Duke and the phych had to be paid upfront I paid 300 dollars.
Changed to UNC and had to have an updated phych eval and bcbs paid for it.
In your post you said you have a huge desire for this surgery to me just to have the desire is part of the battle.
Dont give up and it will happen for you too.

I have them on my list to call. As far as desire, that will never die. I am so ready to begin my new life. I can do most things like a smaller person but I know that sooner than later the weight will be a problem. I am 30 and already feel the pain in my back and shoulders. Not to mention all the risks due to family history. I have 4 kids that I love too much to quit. And while I know in time God will make a way,I am only human and want what I want now.
How was your experiences with Duke and UNC? What did you like or not like about them? And how long did it take you from start to finish?
