Boo HOO AND SCREAM SCREAM

I am so put out with Duke right now I could scream...I was or thought I was in medical/surgical review 15 days ago.  Their web site said so and I had talked to them. Well I call today to see if maybe something was wrong since it has been 15 DAYS and was told  "OH, your chart  got sent back because you need a ultra sound"    me... I had that ultra sound on the 4th, I know it got sent to the office because I talked to one of your nurses about the results! She left for a long time and came back and said she didn't have a answer for me other than "we have a lot of patents it looks like it was just over looked"  ..... she did say she would pu**** through and gave me her direct phone number.......................................... I don't know anything I could have done different....i called them just two days ago and mentioned it had been in review a long time but the person i talked to said well we have 15 days to get it out!.....boy you better bet now i will be their squeaky  wheel!                                                                                     I just wanted to fuss, I have to go put my granddaugther up from school   ~Mary~

I know it can be so frustrating when things like that happen. I bet you felt like screaming! I went through something similar the past 4 weeks. It will get done------believe that. I'll be praying for you!! Good luck.

I'm soooo sorry to hear of your disappointment. I'll bet you'll move to the head of the class now though. Hopefully all will be done, submitted for review, approved and you'll be scheduled for your surgery soon.

I look forward to hearing that it's off to insurance any day now.

Mary, Sounds like the same way I felt when I thought I had all of the tests done the first time.  If they want the @#$%^&*( test done they ought to tell you they're required.  I'm wondering why DUKE needs all of the bull!@#$%^&.   My other complaint with them is that it's impossible to talk to a human when you call.  I'm one of those that calls everyday and get a voicemail every single time.  If I was dying.....I'd be in serious trouble!! Mary, Things do happen for a reason. Hey whine or rant all you want to here. I totally understand your frustrations at Duke been there and changed to UNC because I got fed up with Duke. My weight loss journey took me to UNC and just to get a surgery date took me 3 years but I hung in there I did not give up. Good for you for following up with Duke you have to stay on top of it weather you are at Duke or UNC. In your post you said someone at Duke said "we have alot of patients" ok this maybe true but there are also lots of paients out there who need the surgery and many dont have the time for them to do the #$%&*(() paper chase. My hope for the future for people wanting wls is that the requirements will become easier and more assesible.                                          Annie
