I know I don't post much...
I don't have any first hand info for you about your WLS practice and their scheduling, but I wanted to tell you congrats!! You'll be on the loser's bench sooner than you think.
Also, I don't get to post her often either. I go in spurts I guess. Feel free to PM me anytime you'd like to talk.

Hi Kim -
I was just thinking of you last night when I was as the Duke Support Group at DRH. I'm delighted to hear that you are hitting the home stretch.
I had UHC too. When my package went in for review, I contacted a 'case manager' at UHC. They were able to tell me where my package was in the process. At the time, and I imagine still, they had 14 business days to get the determination to done. I'm pretty sure that mine took 11 days. First the package is downloaded from the Dr's office. Then they inventory it to ensure that everything that they want to see and review is in there. Once they determine that it's all there, they sent it to the Medical Director and it gets put in the 'queue'. Once the on Medical Director's desk, mine was reviewed and approved. I actually knew about the approval before Duke did ;-). UHC then sent Duke notification and we were off. As soon as Duke got the green light, they scheduled me with next available surgery slot.
Hope that helps some.
Congratulations,
Barb
