WOW moment!!!

Hello all!!   Hope everyone is doing well.  Things are going great for me and I just wanted to take a moment to share a wonderful wow moment I had tonight.  I went shopping for the dreaded blue jeans.  Now keep in mind that I haven't worn a "real" pair of blue jeans in years. (you know, the ones you actually have to button and zip and they have real pockets instead of the stitched on ones.)   Anyways, I went to Goody's and thought I'd try on a size 16 Levis and well, they about fell off of me!  I couldn't believe it!!  So I got a 14 misses and by gosh, they actually fit me!!  I got them buttoned and didn't even have to suck in my stomach or lay down on the bench or floor!!!!  LOL!!!!!  It amazes me when I go clothes shopping now.  Things that look like they will be WAY TOO SMALL ACTUALLY FIT ME!!!!!    Oh, and one other thing ~ I am only a one pound loss away from being just overweight and no longer obese!!!!!!!   I thank God every day that He has given me this wonderful gift!!!    Thanks for sharing my WOW moments even if they seem silly.  Life is good!!! What a wonderful wow moment for you Donna!! Life is wonderful after wls. As to how to shop for clothes now it is a mystery to me I feel like I am having to relearn how to do this again. Congratulations on your wow moment.                                           Annie

It is fun Alice.  Although I have to admit that I feel kind of funny not having to go over to the plus section anymore.  It's like everyone is looking at me thinking "why is that fat girl going to that side of the store?"    Hopefully with time that way of thinking will go away!  Thanks for sharing with me!

Wow is right! Congratulations!

I think that it's going to take some time for our heads to catch up the reality of our new size. I know that I was folding laundry the other day and just couldn't believe how small my panties, jeans, and shirts were. I've been going through my closets and dresser and realizing that some things I thought would fit are just too big. My head just doesn't recognize that I'm so much smaller. I think it may be because we began to see the larger size clothes that we wore before as normal, because they were the 'norm' for us for a very long time. Hopefully, with time our new normal will sink in.

Again, warmest congratulations on being able to enjoy shopping in the misses department.

Let me know when you drop into the wonderful realm of being overweight. I'm cheering for you!

And by the way ... There is nothing silly about your wow moments! They are fantastic and I truly appreciate being able to share and celebrate them with you, so keep posting them!
