ot wow moment

Iris, Good job on the pic.  I had to email the technical support and let them post mine. I'm planning on seeing Dr. MacDonald, too!  I went for the patient education class today and scheduled a lot of appointments, but I'm still waiting to schedule the endoscopy.  Have you scheduled yours?  If so, how long did it take to get a date? Thanks! Amanda

Prisc, They scheduled my appts 1 week apart.  The first was the pulmonary, the next cardiac, then my endo. When do you go for the nutrtion class? I promise that it will seem longer then it really is!!!  

I go on Wednesday next week for nutrition.  My psych is also that day. Amanda

I'm still pre-op but I've got to say Southern Surgical has made it really easy for me and my appointments. I've had my cardiac clearance (because of family history) I've had my psych evaluation. I go tonight for my nutritionist consultation. I've had my first endoscope - I really dreaded it beacuse I didn't know what to expect - piece of cake. Dr. MacDonald found a "nasty" ulcer during it last month so I'm scheduled for another one in April. In the meantime he has me on Nexium and I've given up caffeine and spicy foods.  Next Monday will be weigh in #4 out of 6 for my Dr. supervised weight loss attempt to satisfy insurance requirements. After that Dr. Mac says that getting insurance approval would be my next step then SURGERY... I'm hoping for this summer - June would be awesome but probably more like August. Oh well - I'm closer than I've ever been. - Iris

I am looking forward to working with Dr. Mac, but I am worried about all the tests.  I would just be devestated if they found something that kept be from being eligible for surgery.  Did you have any symptoms from the ulcer or was it a total surprise? Amanda
