Just got off the phone with a lady from parrot rescue. They liked my application and are working on scheduling a home visit soon. My love for animals must show in my emails and my application and it makes my heart sing when I hear other people *****cognize this about me.                                       Annie

I love my critters - I feel like Ellie Mae from the Beverly Hillbillies. lol. I think somtimes that I need to get a zoo license if there is such a thing. I've got a 9 year old black lab named Gus and that ole boy has been with me through thick and thin. I've got a 3 year old bloodhound named Ruth - don't let the name fool you Ruth is a he (actually he's a neither now so he won't run off after those crazy girls). Then there's my granddog - Marley - she's a 5 month old great dane. She's so sweet - hard headed just like her owner (my 16 year old) but very very sweet. Then I got a kitten for Christmas because we always have a cat. Her name is Izzy and she runs the house. Her only objective everyday is to torture the dogs. Her latest trick is opening their treat jar that barks - just so she can see them run. Then I rent a room to a friend of my sons' who has 2 pit bulls - Cheeba and Keeton. Add to that the endless stream of teenagers in and out of my house 24/7. I don't think a bird could make it here.  I definetly share your love for animals. -Iris

Hi Iris, Its great to hear about your crew. I love the names Gus and Ruth. It is also nice to know there are other Ellie Mae's out there too loving and caring for animals. Animals give unconditinal love. Maybe one day you will get your zoo and maybe I will get my farm.                             Annie

Annie -

I look forward to hearing about the home visit and your likely adoption of a bird that will find a truly loving and caring home.

I remember getting my first rescue bulldog his name was Hamlet we called him Hammy. Hammy was 13 years old when we adopted him which is very old for a bulldog. I was as excited as a new mother before we got Hammy. I expect I will be just as excited to get a african grey which is what I am working with the bird rescue on getting. You know I will be posting pics of the new family member.                                               Annie Ive already thought of a name if the bird is a male. The names I would like to give him is Merlin and or Gandolf

YEA!!! Annie!!  I hope you get the African Grey you're hoping for. I think when this WLS process is over and I have more mobility,  I'd like to have some more pets.  Perhaps, some more beta fish and maybe a hamster.  This apt. is barely big enough for myself, Keith and Madison (the dog).  So, we probably won't have two dogs anytime soon.   As far as names go, I like "Victorian" people-ish names like ones I'd name a child.  (i.e. Madison) Aren't these our babies, anyway???  Keith has named our Betas after baseball players (i.e. Frenchy after Jeff Francoeur, B-Mac after Brian Mc Cann, and Salty after Jarrod Saltalamachia) Kelly :)

Hi GF, see you are back home again How did it go? I started out on our walk this morning and cut it short because of lighting and thunder Arthur and Guienny hate rain LOL so we hurried home. Got to ride my bike so that was a good thing. More pets sound like a cool thing. Very cool names for your fish way to go Keith. Lee showed me how to turn on the xbox last night so I can practice my golfing even though I beat the pants off of him last night LOL                                         Annie

Wondering why they calll it a Sleep Study....when you don't sleep!!  More about that later in a post. When Madison goes to heaven (he is getting older now) I've thought about getting two smaller dogs so they will be better socialized. Madison has been an only child and it shows!! He is very jealous and defensive of other dogs.  He is extremely protective of Keith and I-which is a good thing.  I don't know what I'm going to do when it's his time to go to heaven.  He's SUCH a GOOD dog!! Kelly :) PS: For photos of Maddie, please see my profile.

Annie, yes, your love for them flows into your words here.  I think it is wonderful.  You need your own tv show I think.  My piggie babies are ready to go, we have one sold and one posibility.  My girlfriends house got struck by lightning so I have her critters too, lol.  It is noisy in this room. There is my bird girl, That is terrible about your friends house getting struck by lighting. I am glad you were able to help her by taking in the animals. I wonder how much of our animal love our husbands can stand LOL As I told Lee when he married me he married my pets too and there will always be animals in my life. If I take a class I want to on Animal Communication maybe I can be OH's animal whisper(sp) I wanted to take this class a year before my surgery but the one thing that stopped me was I was worried about what to do if you sat on the floor or on the grass during the class. because I knew it would have been hard for me now there is a possiblity I can sit on the floor or grass.                                                        Annie
