Less than 2 weeks and I am soooo sick!

Well, as luck would have it; at two weeks and one day from surgery I came down with the absolute worst case of FLU I have ever had.  I have everything on track, supplies purchased, kids squared away and BAM, I've never been so sick in my life.   I'm much better today and I am debating on calling the surgeon's office and asking them if this will "complicate" things.  I did'nt take any prescription meds, just Theraflu and stuff like that, but I did have a very high fever for a while there (104!) and I still feel very weak.  I've had nausea, but no vomiting or anything like that, and I've eaten pretty well today.  What do ya'll think.  The thought of postponing makes me feel even more sick! Thanks

Im so sorry you feel so bad. I was lucky I didnt come down with anything before my surgery. The only thing I can tell you, and this is just my own personal opinion, I would want my Dr to know everything going into the surgery. I wouldnt want any other complications arising that they aren't aware of. Ive read a lot of posts here on and some people say their dr.s dont postpone,  and some do.  Hopefully you are on the mend soon and will be fine but I would want to mention it to your dr. Just for your own comfort/safety. Maybe they can give you something to help in the meantime. Good Luck!

I think i would also want my doc to know.  With it being 2 weeks away,  maybe it won't change your surgery date but I wouldn't want to add any risk. Take care and good luck! Pam

I feel for ya but it is much better to postpone if needed then try to put your weak distressed body through a major surgery that is hard enough to recover from when your healthy. Please let your Dr. know and let him make the call. JMO

Thanks everyone I'll give him a call today.   I feel pretty normal today but better to be safe than sorry. Jason
