I had the flu and it wore me out.  But my PCP said when I went to see her for the flu that my B12 levels were low.  She gave me a shot that helped almost immediately with tiredness.  Hope you feel better soon Ramona!

Ramona,  I've heard several people complain of "hibernation" syndrome at a couple months out so maybe thats all it is? If not - do you have any thyroid problems? I'd talk to your PCP. SLeeping like that was the first clue that my thyroid finally died on me.

Hey Ramona...I haven't been tired at all until in the past couple of weeks.  I know I have had tons of stress due to my husbands health, but I also got the flu.  So I don't really know if it is a common problem to be tired...but I am right there with ya.  I'm right at the three month mark and just yesterday I took a seriously lonnnnnng 4 hour "nap".   I think my main issue right now though is being sick...if it doesn't get better I will probably check in with the dr.   Feel better...  hang in there! Are you taking iron supplements?   When my iron drops, that's what happens to me. Although I slept 20 hours yesterday - but I think I finally got rid of that stupid head cold that's been pestering me for 2 weeks.  It was freaky - but I do feel so much better, so maybe my body just needed the break..... No, no iron supplement. But beef is the easiest thing for me to eat. I may try it though. I sure don't want the constipation that comes with it. It's quite a catch 22. Thanks for the post, Ramona

Very normal - for some people it takes longer for their body to really feel the effects of surgery - the anesthesia, the malnurition and all that. I struggled with low energy many times during the first year post-op and it just takes time for everything to balance out. Make sure you are eating every few hours to keep your metabolism going, make sure you are meeting all your nutritional requirements, take your vitamins and stay hydrated. Also exercise and keep moving - no matter how tired you are get in at least 20 minutes of exercise a day (even just simple walking) it will help give you more energy. Once you get tired and lay around you just get even more tired ya know? If you are taking a Bcomplex liquid/sublingual you may need to switch to just a B12 or seperate - if you keep feeling tired or are concerned call your surgeon and see what they say. Personally I take a high potency b12 (from target) sublingual daily and that works best for me!

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)
