Vitamin Question

I noticed when I was filling out my post-op questionnaire at doctor's office today it asked if I was taking my B12 weekly. I forgot to address it with my doctor when we spoke but my paperwork from nutritionist says daily. So I have been taking it daily. My bad...or her bad??? Thanks, Mare

I have been taking mine daily too.. but still had to have a B12 shot when I was sick earlier this week.  My PCP said my levels were too low, even with taking the supplement.  I would say taking them daily will not hurt you at all.  :)  It can only help.

i was told to take them daily and found the ones that dissolve on the tongue at walmart. Take care, Pam

I also had Dr Harris do my surgery and I had the same question you did the nut. said once a week. You can look in the booklet she gives out b4 surgery and its all in there but if you have questions call her her numbers or email are also in the booklet she should of gave you. Im almost 4 moths out now and down 55 pounds.

I was told to take it daily.  However I don't take B-12, I take B complex.  My doc says its basically the same.  My labs have been great.

I take it daily and my labs are in normal parameters.  Make sure you're taking Sublingual B-12, it absorbs the best.  From what I understand, B-12 is absorbed in the part of the intestine that's removed during surgery.  We have to supplement it because we don't absorb it in our digestive tracts. I take my b12 every day too, thats what my doc wanted

Mare, I am taking b-12 daily but my nut says I need to take  the B- Complex. My b-12 is sublingle. I will prob. take both to be sure. HG Myrtis
