Can you believe this?  I am over 7 months out... and today for the first time since before surgery I am actually STARVING!  I could not wait to eat lunch.  What is the deal?  Anyone else get to the point where they feel super hungry?  I guess I am just shocked that I have a feeling that my old big stomach would have felt...

Happens to me actually all the time! My problem is I CANNOT EAT A MEAL!! if we cook or go out I take like three bites and Im done.. then one hour later I am STARVING and I do not know what to do about it. Im not going to sit and force myself to eat just because Im suppose to eat a meal but I cannot handle a meal!!!

I have the same feelings some days. I get hungry then I sit down to eat and can only eat a few bites. Then before the next "meal" time I am hungry again! I think as long as your in between meal snacks are healthy this is ok???? I am still losing weight, however it has slowed down quite a bit.

Yep! I have this happen to me too. I just really try to keep track of what I'm eating to be sure that I'm staying the course. I would say that I really need to eat about every 3 hours to stave off the hungry's. I just make sure to lead with 2 ounces of protien, follow w/complex carbs and then I can have whatever else I want ... Not that I usually have room for anything else, but my head likes the idea that I could have something else if I wanted to and had room for it ... LOL

It will be fine. This is just another phase of our journey. It's the reason that I got the "Beck Diet Solution" books ... They are really helping me with decision making and with coming to terms with the fact that most 'naturally thin' folks make conscious decsions to regulate what and how much they eat all time.

At first, I found it really scary, but now I know ... most of the time ... that it's another growth experience and I/we are up to the task.

Hugs,

Barb

I've felt some real hunger but so far, if its between meals, a glass of milk stomps it. I guess that's what's nice about the early stages lol

I'm fine in the mornings but, in the early aftenoon my pouch starts to hurt if I don't feed it fast then it takes awhile to have it settle down. Not a pleasent feeling. Have you had this happen to you at 9 weeks? I go see Jodi Wednesday and Dr. K on Thursday.

I know exactly how you all feel.  But I guess that is how we're going to feel for along time.  The reason I say this in b/c my GF's sister is 2 yrs out and she stills feelsthat way.  If we go out to eat she will always put some sort of food in her purse b/c she states she'll be hungry again in an hour or so.

Unfortunately, I have had this feeling since about 3 weeks out. The surgeon said some people do. This is the reason I eat about every 3 hrs while awake. I believe it is also the reason I am loosing slower that some others. Hope all is well. Ramona

I found I would feel very hungry for a few reasons - took me time to figure it out and what my body really needed to not be hungry. If I dont eat enough for dinner the next day I am hungry the entire day no matter what I eat. If I wait too long to eat I get very hungry If I dont eat enough at one meal, I get hungry before the next meal Breakfast - it is the most important meal for me - my breakfast needs to include protein and a little carbs and maybe some fat - that seems to really balance my entire day. A cup of yogurt for breakfast just stopped doing it for me, same with plain cottage cheese. My breakfasts are mostly the high fiber muffins from trader joes - they have lots of fiber, some protein, carbs and a little fat... otherwise those breakfast sandwiches I posted about - I know you said you had bread issues so the egg, cheese and add some veggies would be good for you - protein, fat and fiber. Around where you are I really had to work on getting more veggies in my diet for the fiber - that really helped to keep the hunger away and balance me out! I then started to focus on low glycemic index foods to keep my blood sugar from spiking which will help with hunger as well.  Not sure where you are falling with calories/carbs/fat/protein etc but you may be at a point you need to be eating more for your body - I had a change at 6 months, then changed again at 11 after a 2+ month stall.
