Two more days to surgery and I have lost 13 lbs in the past 12 days and am starvin!!!!   Tomorrow is clear liquids and then back to protein after surgery.  The only problem I have had is I am dragging with no energy.  Anyone else remember this happening to them? Thanks all, Pam

Twelve days of low to no carbs will DEFINITELY have an impact on your energy level.  It's a feeling that gets better once you're over the hump, especially once you're adding more protein to your diet. Wow ... just two days to surgery!!  Did you ever imagine it would be so close?  You'll be coming into March like a lion, babeeeee!

Thanks Kim....I have been working more hours at work just to get caught up and comfortable to leave my desk for three weeks.   Been to work and home and blop down and not get back up. Went to bed at 11 last night and slept til 9:30 this morning and only got up cuz the phone rang.   Then took a 2 hour nap this afternoon.  Family and friends are trying to encourage me to walk or ride my exercise bike but I have absolutely no energy.  I work a 1/2 day tomorrow and then get my wonderful ****tail to clean me out.  I am excited just to get to surgery and get to the healing process and be somewhat normal!     Take care, Pam

My best friend and I were marathon walkers (she's a triathlete now and training for her first IronMan competition!) and both went on the South Beach Diet at the same time, DRASTICALLY cutting carbs and eating lots of protein.  After about a week to ten days, we both were calling each other crying because we were getting pooped out after just a mile -- and we'd been training at six miles a day, plus 13 miles on Saturdays!    It took a few days of perseverence to get past that, but we did. And you're about to get into the second half of your marathon!!  You've made it through pre-op, and now you've gotta get out there and finish the course with your surgery and and postsurgery.  ((( WHOO HOO! )))  You're gonna rock!!

Good Luck on the surgery.  This too shall pass.   After you recover from surgery you will full of energy--so much that you will surprise yourself.    Take Care!  We will be dusting off a spot for you on the loser's bench.

Hi Pam -

Congrats on the 13 lbs lost! It sounds like you are well on your way. I know that this part of the journey is hard, but it gets better and it is soooooo worth the struggle.

Keep your chin up and keep putting one foot in front of the other.

You're on your way!

Warmly,

Barb

Hey Pam - Congrats on the 13 lbs so far. That is wonderful!! I don't remember feeling more tired than usual doing low carb, but I didn't have much energy to begin with. LOL You must be so excited about your surgery. I know I was. I'll be thinking of you and praying for you. xoxo Mare
