TOTALLY NORMAL!! I didnt EVER start feeling full until I moved onto solid food, I could drink the same as you and eat yogurt and soup like it was nothing. Remember me with the baked potato at Ruby Tuesdays? thats what you have to look forward too LOL

It is because during surgery with all the stapling and all that goes on your nerve endings are not working yet. So this is were the lovely statement "just because you can, doesn't mean you should". All of the feeling in your stomach is not there to warn you. But it is kinda like a drain, your not going to stretch out your pouch with liquids. But do remember your stoma in the equation of consitantly pushing too much through.  This is why they had to come up with the R.O.S.E surgery... Just food for thought is all..

I'm very happy to hear your feeling good.

Early out they restrict the amount because you are healing and they do not want you to cause damage... really there is no other reason when it comes to liquids. Think of your pouch like a funnel - pour a glass of water in, some yogurt, soup, protein shake... moves right thru... now dump some cottage cheese, ground beef, chicken.... its going to sit there and move thru slowly. As you move thru the food stages you will definately see the difference - you will see depending on texture, density, moisture of the food you will be able to tolerate different amounts and some will stick with you longer than others.  Soooooo dont be worried you are just fine! :-) I never had that 'ooo I ate too much too quick' feeling until soft foods, really felt it more on solids thou.

Thank you, Oh Wise One! LOL You always have such great advice. You'd think with all the researching and all for the past 2 years I'd know all this? Nope. Everything seems to change when you actually HAVE the surgery, no matter how much you think you know beforehand. Perhaps they swapped out my brain with my stomach? I'm sure it's size is much smaller. Duh! xoxo Mare

I think we let our nerves get the best of us - in the beginning we all worry that we wont be the one who loses weight or our pouch is too big or something isnt working right. Its normal... as you get further out you will relax and see that everything is functioning properly - then you will hit a stall/ plateau and freak out again :-)  Try me when you eat chicken or something you will have noooooo doubt about the pouch working!

I could do more liquids too..  Just be patient.  When you start eating real foods, you will see that pouch at work!

Oh Mare......I felt the exact same way.  I too thought my pouch was larger.  I even thought to myself, maybe he didn't close it off good.  I felt full, but not to the point of pain or discomfort.  I do so well with somethings.  I go out to eat and eat with no problem.  Can you believe Mexican is my favorite and gives me no problem what so ever.  Now I went to eat chinese once (well actually this has happened all 3 times I have been) I was eating slow and normal, all of a sudden I felt hot and a little dizzy.  I threw up.  Thank God I made it to the restroom.  This happened at Apple Bee's twice.  Once with broccoli and once with boneless chicken wings.  There will be things that cause the feelings.  I was actually happy when this happened.  Yeah, sounds sick, but I knew there was something going on down there.  We are all different.  I still can't believe that I handle spicy food better than eggs, chicken, or some veggies.  You are normal.  It will probably happen when you start solids.  Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
