Fever!

Hey everyone! Just thought I'd send a quick update to say I'm feeling ok. I'm sipping and walking and napping. My tummy is sore, but my incisions are looking great. I seem to have developed a fever though. I called my surgeons office and they said to keep an eye on it as long as I was feeling good. The only thing that feels bad is my lower back...it's quite sore. If I still have a fever Monday, I'm going to go see my doctor because I'm willing to bet I have an UTI. I hope each of you are having a wonderful weekend! I'm going to go work on a paper that is due in one of my classes. Sounds fun huh? xoxo, Becky

I'm glad you are doing okay. Please keep check on the fever. The fever might be because you have to do a paper on the weekend. Anyway here's to you having a uninventful recovery . Later, Ken

Becky, I had the back pain too.  I also ran a fever after my surgery.  Be careful and get alot of rest.  I thought I had a UTI but I did not. They never knew what caused the fever, it just went away. Take care, Barbara

It's actually fairly normal to run a low grade fever for a few days after surgery.  Your body is recovering and the fever can be part of that process.  I run low grade fevers every time I've had surgery, and I've had seven.  Keep an eye on it, of course. As far as back pain goes, I had a lot of soreness from the bed post op.  Actually, I had a little nerve damage on my behind from it.  My left cheek was numb for a couple of weeks. Take care of yourself and keep sipping and walking. Ellen

Own it all, it's yours!

Becky -

Thanks for checking in. I'm glad you are staying on top of things ... of course, continue sipping and walking. I hope the fever and back pain are just mild and transitory, but please let us know how you progress.

Glad you are feeling well. Just wanted to let you know that usually bladder/kidney infections are sore up higher in your back, under the back of your ribcage.  Hope the fever is nothing. Keep sipping, Ramona
