Things are still crazy with my husband's health.  He now has the Flu!!  Honestly, all of the sickness he has had over the past 2 weeks might have been leading up to this moment... full blown FLU!!  He is sooo sick.  (Along with everyone else in Gaston County!).  His primary couldn't even see him and referred him to the Urgent Care.  He is just still so weak from all of his vasovagal and now this.  OH..  his mother came to visit Sunday and is now in Duke with the flu herself.  She is a severe diabetic and she passed out Tuesday night and when she woke up she called an ambulance herself.  She had a sugar fall out and passed out!!  yikes!  So the flu is a nasty beast right now...  I DO NOT WANT IT!  I really hope I can avoid it.  (what are those chances!!???!!!).   Just not having alot of "me" time right now.  therefore I am not having alot of OH time and I miss my OH Friends.  Just saying hello and letting you all know that I think of ya all the time and will get back here on a more routine basis just as soon as I can.   Happy Valentines Day NC Crew!  Love you guys! Hang in there Connie!  Make sure you're getting your vitamins!  I know for the first few months after my surgery my immune system was really depressed, so I picked up whatever was floating around me.  I'm sorry your husband is feeling so cruddy.  Once he fights off this flu, he's due for a break, isn't he?  Not to mention you!!! Happy Valentines Day to you too! P.S.  Thanks for the comments on my new pictures!  :)

((((Hey Connie)))),

I'm sorry that your husband and by association you are having such a hard time right now. I hope it all gets better soon. Be sure to stay hydrated, get as much protien, hydration and vitamins as possible. Of course, it will be hard, but also try to get some rest to keep your immune system intact.

Thinking of you,

Barb

So sorry to hear about all the trouble.....what about the  antiviral drugs.....,tamiflu is one and there is another one but i dont know the name..they help reduce the severity and duration of the flu but must be taken within 48 hours of the start of your symptoms and are available only by prescription....I have never taken them but heard they work pretty good........~Mary~

I miss everyone, too!  I have not been on OH a lot over the last couple of weeks myself, either.  My 8 year old has had the flu this week, as well.  He was fine one day, next morning feeling a little odd, and by that afternoon had a temperature of 103.5.  Took him to the doctor, they swabbed him for flu, and diagnosed him positive ... and said he was their 15th positive case that day!!!  He's on Tamiflu and my teenagers are on it as a preventative measure.  My husband and I are taking our chances and not taking the Tamiflu because it's so doggone expensive ($140 for my 3 kids to be on a 1-week course of it).   We have had a ton of nurses delivering babies the last few weeks and I've been working overtime and it's just been nuts!  I hope to spend some time here tomorrow so I can catch up on how everyone has been doing.   You don't EVEN wanna know how far behind I am on You Tube videos (watching the people I subscribe to).  Plus, it's time for me to do an update one myself.  Maybe tomorrow!
