OT: Any Nascar fans out there? Who's your favorite?

OK, I know it's considered a guys sport, but I have to admit, I LOVE Nascar Racing.  My DH got me hooked a few years ago and now I love it better than he does.   Dale Jr.is my man!  Who is yours?             Go 88 You know where I'll be on Sunday afternoons!

Yikes!!  You've got to be kidding.........we both KNOW there's only ONE "Man" in this event...........

Yeah, I love me some Tony Stewart too, but I was a Dale Sr. fan first and then had to pull for his son!  But, yeah, I do love Tony the Tiger!   There aren't many of the drivers that I don't like, but the Busch Brothers are in that small group.

I have to say, Jr. has been my favorite since I started watching. I started watching Nascar occationally during Jr.'s rooky year. (DH had been watching it for years, his favorite driver is Jeff Gordon). But when Dale Sr. died I started watching it more just to ruit on Jr. And over the years he has made it real easy just to love that guy!! Just something about him...  he has that "it" factor. Anyway, he is my man!! I am SO glad he is with Hendricks now too!! Not only because they are a great team, but now I can wear his merchandise (we aren't drinkers, nor did I want to promote it). And I was jumping up and down like crazy watching him win on Saturday!! It was great and Sunday's race is going to be fun to watch too! Anyone planning on going to a race this year? Now that we are in NC (just moved here in November) it seems kind of sac-religious not to go to a race. hehe! Oh, yeah and Alice I have to agree with you 100% about the Busch brothers. Anytime I saw Toni and Kurt close to eachother on Saturday I was thinking, "Toni, just take him out!" The Busch brothers for whatever reason just rub me the wrong way. Andi

We love to go to the races but since my DH has been sick we have not been to one.  We were at Daytona at the Busch race the year that Dale Sr won the Daytona 500.  Unfortunately we were in an RV on the way home but were able to watch it on TV.  Our nephew had a Busch team for a brief time and we had gone down to see them race on Sat.  My hubby is a Gordon fan too, but he pulls for just about any driver who drives a Chevy! Jr is going to have a great year in 2008; I just feel like he will have a real chance to win some races with the Hendrick Organization!  I really hated to see him leave the company his father built but Teresa was just not going to give him the support he needed.  Alice

Jeremy Mayfield is our guy... He is the President of the Pug Dog Rescue of North Carolina  and the owner of 3 Pugglets and of course being Pug LOVERS we have always pulled for him. My husband meet him last year and had a chat with him - WHAT A NICE GUY, DH ( Gavin ) told him we also were  Pug owners and they talked about the little love joys.  Last year I had issues with him driving a Toyota ( yes I am a American auto only woman ) ... but when  you have a fellow that travels with his little lap dogs like the Mayfields do , you gotta love them. I don't really watch the races much , while the DH watches I normally read but I do enjoying going to Charlotte Motor Speedway for live action. For anyone that has never been , you should go it is a BLAST. Also to throw in a gastric by pass WOW moment, in years past I could not walk up the stairs at the Speedway very good, so we always bought seats by the entrance--- well now that I have lost that horrible weight I can go anywhere at the track ... YEA I LOVE THE TOOL Thanks Dr M- once again you have changed my life and I am so happy and grateful. Pug Momma 

I like Jeremy too; he is a great driver.  I didn't know he was a Pug fan too... they are such cute little dogs.  Congrats on your amazing weight loss and I know what you mean about being able to climb the steps, etc.  I'm only 4 months out and I can now climb steps at work and still be able to breathe Have a great day!  Alice

OH ALICE! You are a gal after my own heart.  It's Dale Jr.  all the way!   My Dad is a Michael Waltrip fan and my brother used to help Kenny and Rusty Wallace with their cars many years ago.  I tried to keep from being bitten by the Nascar bug but I finally gave in when Dale Jr started racing.   Yep! you know where I'll be on Sunday.  I have told my kids--Dont call unless it is life or death or you see smoke and flames.

Ruby, did you see the Shootout Saturday night?  I was watching it with my husband and daughter and we were all yelling and screaming for Jr.  It was SOOOOOO great to see him win that race.  I said, Teresa, eat your heart out!  I know she must have been embarrassed to see him win his first race with Hendrick!  He will have many wins now! Go 88!! Alice

oh yeah - I count down the weeks to beginning of the season - Boogity boogity Boogity, let's go racin boys!!!!! We are big time Tony Stewart fans.  I do have a soft spot in my heart for Junebug, but why oh why did he have to go to Hendricks!?!  (Ah well, no matter who is driving, it's a great sport!)
