Moving back to NC
Hello everybody!!
I am moving back to Shallotte NC next month so I need to find a good surgeon in that area to be able to take care of me for my labs and whatever may come up, hopefully all will be good but you know how that goes.
Does anybody know of any good surgeons in Wilmington NC, Whiteville NC, or Myrtle Beach SC?
Im moving back to my home town and it is situated between Wilmington NC and Myrtle Beach SC, Im also looking for a support group that might be in the area. Any info would be helpful
Thanks

Let me be the first to welcome you home.... I wouldnt want to live anywhere other than NC . I am having my surgery on Feb 25th and Dr. David Miles in Wilmington is doing the surgery. He sems real nice and very knowledgable. The office staff is very nice also. He is located right down the street from the hospital at the corner of 17th and shipyard. I can get his # if you want . Let me know and welcome home!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and it would be wonderful if you could get that number for me, I would really appreciate that very much.
Ive not lived in NC since 2001, my husband is in the Army and we've lived in Tx from 2001 to 2006 then they sent us here to Ft. Stewart GA and I hate it here. Now Im going home and can't wait to be around family and friends again.

Hi Donna,
I am having my surgery tomorrow with Dr. Harris in Wilmington. He's a brilliant surgeon.

I may be too late for anyone to respond or even read this, but wanted to at least say that when I was considering bypass, I thoroughly researched both Miles and Harris. Harris won by a longshot. His record was more impressive along with his experience. I have heard of waaaaaaaaayyyyyy too many problems with Dr. Miles and know personally of a friend who, when left in his care, could have died. Sometimes your insurance will tell you who you have to go to.....I'd check with them first. If they do suggest the both of them, please do yourself a favor and check into the stats for them both. Best of luck to you.

You know maybe I am too thin skinned but you people who have replied and said negative things about Dr Miles are really upsetting me. Here I am , new to the area and had no where to look. My reg doc couldnt even tell me a doctor that did this surgery in Wilmington. I had to find one on my own and yes I found Dr Miles. And it has been a very emotional ride for me and then to have people say well I have heard bad things about him or he may be cute but he is no good is really upsetting. Unless you personally have had a bad experience with a doctor I think you should remain biased.
You really have no idea what affect you have on someone when you bad mouth their doctor.
