Went to the salon today to have them work on my color and to my surprize I am loosing hair which I thought it wasent going to happen to me. My hair is pretty thick in the back but the front is thinning. Even this is going on I would gladly do wls again in a heart beat. I will be adding some new pics tonight and or tomorrow. While sitting in front of the mirror at the salon I am starting to notice changes for the better. Did I mention I am able to put on the smock they give you at the salon. It fits great and is comfortable.                                                  Annie

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

I agree with you.  I will gladly take some hair loss to all those pounds anyday.  It will grow back.  If yours is thick, you should be ok.  I already have thin hair.  I am terrified, but it is worth it.

Hi Annie -

I know that it's a little disheartening to be losing your hair, but you have plenty and as they say it will grow back. I'm delighted that you are doing so well and am glad that you had a nice time at the salon.

Like you I had thick hair before surgery.  I really thought that if I lost any hair at all it would not be noticable.  Was I wrong!  However, it does come back.  So, there is hope.  Check out my photos and you can see where I lost a LOT of hair up front in December 2006 and have most of it back now.  The upside is that after I cut it all off, I stopped straightening my hair which is really curly.  Lots cheaper and less time consuming to maintain when you go all natural.

Hi Annie, I'm losing hair too.  I always have lost hair in the shower, etc, but now I'm losing a lot more.  So far it doesn't seem to be noticeable to other people...but I can tell it's getting thinner.  :(  That's all right, I had too much to start with!  :) Anyway, I got my hair cut yesterday too!  I haven't had it cut since surgery and I definitely had dry ends that needed to be trimmed.  I'll try to get some pics tomorrow and post them. Congrats on fitting into the smock!

I also had my surgury in August 2007 and have really noticed my hair loss over the last month (especially in the shower).  My husband had to buy one of those hair traps because it was so significant.  I pray everyone is right that it will eventually come back - but like you said, I would do it all over again in a minute.  But in the mean time, I am keeping my hair trimmed and making sure I get in my protein and my vitamins.  Good luck to you!!!!!!!!!!!!    Donna
