You are going to do wonderful.  Everyday I still think maybe I am not doing right or that my body didn't take to the surgery or that maybe my surgeon left my pouch too big.  I think most people have these thoughts.  I can't tell you not to have them, b/c we can't stop that inner devil.  hahaha  I am so excited for you.  Just stay committed.  You'll do great!

I'm so excited for you and Becky! You guys are going to do great!!! I think these feelings you have are TOTALLY normal. I'm going through similiar thoughts myself and I'm almost 4 months out! Thoughts run through my head that I'm stretching my pouch or I'm going to somehow sabatoge myself-- I think it's normal. Not saying I don't need to pay attention and get on the right road to a HEALTHY lifestyle, but that I am not doing all that bad and need to realize it. Good luck with everything. I know you will do beautimously! *hehe*

We have definitely all had those insecure feelings Mare. They are so normal and natural when we've been through so many ups and down and had so many unsuccessful attempts at weight loss all our lives.

You know what's different this time? You didn't have an awesome tool to aid in your weight loss and help you succeed like you will this time. You wont be taking this journey alone. You'll have the support of your Doctor, your friends and family, and not to mention your OH family. Those my dear are all the ingredients for a successful weight loss journey.

Mare, You would not be normal if you weren't having these feelings!!!  EVERYONE has been there and some days we are still there!!!  You can do this and I know that you won't have any trouble whatsoever succeeding!  YOU ROCK!!!!  You are going to do so awesome at this because you have fought so hard and long for it!  Hang in there! ((((((Mare)))))),

As Annie said, we've all had those feelings and fears ... They'll probably creep up and bite you again when you hit your first stall or when you see someone else loosing faster than you, but you ARE going to lose it this time. And you won't only lose it, but you we are all in this together, so once the losing is over, we are all going to help each other maintain this weight loss. Go get the "Beck Diet Solution" book and workbook. It's a minor expense, but a major investment in you. The surgery is going to help you peel that excess weight off and it's going to give you the tool (or big gun/little pouch) you need to keep the weight off ... the books and/or other support are the bullets that will keep it off!

We are all here because we have struggled and failed more times that we can even remember. No one in their right mind would do this if we could do some other way. That being said, I have to tell you that in the beginning of the Beck Diet Solution Workbook there is a self assessment test, so that you can see what your feelings about food, dieting, etc. are at the beginning and check back to get a pulse on it after you finish the "program." I have to tell you that my responses to the questions today are far different from what they would have been a year ago. The reason I telling you this, is that I have already made some major shifts in how I feel about food and my relationship to it. There is definitely room for improvement, but the change is truly astounding. I think that you will find this so as well. Remember that you will make mistakes, but you will also learn from them and move forward.

You will succeed my friend, you will. I've got your back!

Love you!

Barb
