I exchanged some pants I bought last week for a XL womens size and my god they fit. This morning I went to JMS.com to see what size is XL it is 20-18 I just could not belive it. I am wanting to get a pair of black jeans to wear for DH party so I have a little time to look. I also have discovered a new desert idea for my party. I bought fresh rasberries a package of mini phylo pastry cups took one berry placed in the cup and then about one teaspoon of lemon curd and put on top of the berry. Most everything I eat these days I swear it has got to be the best thing I have ever eatten in my life LOL My little pies where wonderful and what I learned in my cooking class at UNC the little pie shells trick your head into thinking you just had some pie. I also found a wildblueberry spread sweetend with grape juice and put that into the little pie shells OMG that was wonderful too. So I have the deserts covered for the party and they are wls friendly. My veggie lazangna was wonderful too but I am going to have to remake it using a few noodles for the party. BTW I am feeling so good and so active life is good.                                              Annie

Hi Annie - I live in Efland and work in Durham.  I haven't followed the NC forum in a very long time (had Rny in 2003).  I don't often see people from this end of the triangle.  I'm curious about the cooking class you took at UNC.  What was that about?  It is a recurring class? Hi Betsy, The class I attended was given by a patient of my surgeon who had RNY a year ago. She is a chef at a B & B in Virgina and what I was told she was working on a book with the help if the GI nurse. I will be going to see my doctor soon and I will aske the nurse if there will be any more classes in the future. I was so impressed by this class it gave me lots of helpful hints and ideas.                                 Annie

Hi Annie -

Geez! I sure wish I could have gone to the cooking class. Do you know if there are going to be anymore scheduled? If not through UNC, maybe we should consider trying to do something through the meetup group. What do you think.

Sounds like a great idea to me Barb, Southern Seasons has a cooking studio on the second floor that is where the class was held.                                              Annie

Went to put on my new pants this morning and beaming from ear to ear about the size but then noticed they were too long. I dont have a sewing machine nor do I know how to use one but I could hem them up myself.                                            Annie

I get Southern Season's cooking class emails but I rarely see anything that would be appropriate for post-WLS patients.  Betsy
