It's normal to be nervous/excited. You will be fine though and be so glad you made this life changing decision.  Good luck to you and remember we are here for any and all questions! :)

Oh, gosh ... butterflies?  Try pterodactyls!   I was really nervous, but going to the support groups before my surgery helped tremendously.  I met the most amazing people and just plain had a great time.  I also found this message board!  It made me realize how much support would be there for me afterwards.

Yes, this does seem to be a super messageboard with tons of love/help/support and understanding.

I have to add that going to my pre-op Days o'Testing at Rex Hospital were very affirming.  The nurses and other staff there were so positive, and many told me about colleagues, friends, and family who'd had WLS.   After my surgery, the nurses and staff on my floor never stopped making sure that I was comfortable and felt 100% supported the whole way.   They're very committed to making sure you heal quickly and are charged up for handling things on your own once you leave the hospital.  All of this matters a great deal and alleviated a lot of nervousness I had about going home from the bubble of care at the hospital to working out things on my own.
