Did you get butterflies??
I'm calling tomorrow to set up my initial consult appointment! I've already got butterflies in my stomach! I'm sooo very nervous/scared about this but then again very anxious to get on with a slimmer/healthier/more active life! How did you all feel getting started? How did you choose your surgeon?
I got my call back last week after attending the WLS seminar earlier. I told them I would call back as I wanted to talk with my husband more about it.
I know a consult doesn't mean suregery but it's a start!

Karen,
I have butterflies too. I chose my surgeon by looking at reviews and finding out statistics. The surgeon I chose has never had a fatality in over 2000 surgeries.
Plus, you might want to look for one that is ASBS Center of Excellence. It takes a lot to get that honor, and they are under constant scrutiny. I am going to have a drive, but it is worth it to me. I wish you the best!

I am still pre-op but have gotten butterflies, bees, and maybe a couple of crazy squirrrels after every completed step of this journey. I expect a whole zoo in my tummy when I find out about approval!!!!
I chhose my surgeon by what "felt" right... info from message boards, patients I know, centers of excellence, accessibility of office staff, follow up programs......
I'd been researching for a while and then it was like the right practice appeared.....

Oh yeah, I had butterflies! I wasn't sure that I actually wanted the surgery when I started the process. I'd say I was 50/50 and became more comfortable with the idea as I worked my way through all of the appointments. I also learned a lot more along the way and that helped bring my comfort level up. I made it to 100% about a month prior to surgery. & now that I'm almost 4 months out I can say that I made the right decision for me! I love what this surgery has allowed me to do for myself! :)
