I've posted about my insurance not covering WLS, I was wondering if any of you guys live/work  in the triad area.  I live in the High Point area.   Any of you willing to share your employers with insurance that will cover the wls? Thanks in advance, Mary Ann

Any position with the state of NC will get you covered via BCBS NC State Employee Health Plan.  I was able to get my WLS covered since my husband works for the state.  My employers insurance would not cover it so I switched to my husband's.

Hi Mary Ann, I was working for Cornerstone Health Care in High Point when I had my WLS and their insurance is Medcost and it covered me.  I have since moved back to my hometown in Virginia but I had no problem getting approved or anything with Cornerstone's insurance.  Good luck to you. Hugs, Donna

I am not in that area but I know Wachovia and Bank of America cover it. Duke Energy covers also if they are up there. I thin there is an Aetna customer service office in or around High Point and they cover it. BCBS NC is actually in the Ral area and I would think they would cover it.  Good Luck!!!!!

Insurance is a funny thing, I have Med Cost and they would not cove my RNY , I work for a law firm ( in the Charlotte area ) that is self insured with Med Cost, my heart was broken when I found out they would not cover my surgery  but did cover most ,,,, I was lucky enough to have a retirement account that allowed me to use some money for medical issues and now I make  monthly payments , on one hand being self pay I did not have all the problem with requirments that some  have but still $ 30,000 worth of debt is hard to handle.  But honestly I have no regrets , I have lost so much weight and I feel like a new woman. Happy Friday and take care
